Eligibility Criteria for the Target Group
  • All participants must have a minimum age of 15 years.
  • All participants must have at least successfully completed the Junior High School (JHS) Level or must be basically literate in English or any of the spoken and written Ghanaian Languages (to be confirmed by the TC in charge).1
  • Apprentices and workers have to be assigned to CTVET-registered MCPs who also belong to a registered TA.
  • Apprentices shall have started their apprenticeship at least 2 months before applying for GTVP participation.
  • MCPs may only participate if at least 2 of their apprentices and/or workers (if applicable) are also allowed to participate in the project.2
  • MCPs with up to 10 apprentices plus 15 additional workers (incl. part-time workers) may participate.
  • In exceptional cases MCPs with up to 15 apprentices may participate after physical inspection of the MCPs’ facilities by the VO in charge. This is to ensure that the MCP and his senior staff are able to train this number of apprentices at the same time.

Requirements for GTVP Stakeholders

Institutional Training Providers (TPs)

    • TPs must be registered with CTVET and must be accredited by CTVET for each Trade Area and level of qualification, for which the TP intends to offer training funded out of GTVP.

Trade Associations (TAs) and Training Coordinators (TCs) assigned by the TAs

    • TAs must be registered with CTVET.

Awarding Bodies (ABs)

    • ABs must be registered and accredited by CTVET.

TPs and TAs must be located in one of the project regions in order to be eligible to participate in the project. However, also accredited TPs located in bordering areas of other regions may participate in the GTVP if no accredited TP in the project region can be accessed and when the distance to the border of the project region is not exceeding 30km.
